For the Aldar Grove development on Saadiyat Island, Innovo Build required an access solution capable of supporting façade finishing works — including plastering, painting, aluminium, and glass installation — across a building with complex balcony extensions and restricted wall access.
The client was not able to access the walls of the building for plaster, painting, aluminium & glass works. Hence, they needed a solution for this problem in order to meet client deadlines, since they were not comfortable using scaffolding as it is a time-consuming process. Using cradles was also not possible because of the balcony extensions that were prominent on every floor of the building.
By using external design consultants & the fabrication design company, we were able to pull together a comprehensive solution which had been the first ever done by BYRNE in the UAE. The solution involved using retractable platforms on our mast climbers so that the platforms could be moved in & out depending on the building architecture by the trained staff of the contractor, which resulted in huge savings in terms of time saved & ease of operation.
These platforms were extendable up to 1.6 m so that access to these areas was facilitated. BYRNE had the first-mover advantage on this special type of application in the UAE.
